A microneedling procedure takes on average 30-60 minutes and is generally painless after your dermatologist applies a medical numbing cream to the face or smaller area being treated. Results are immediate, but the appearance of the skin will continue to improve for up to 6 months after a treatment has occurred. Your dermatologist may recommend a total of 3+ microneedling treatments to achieve optimal results, which can occur at 4-6 week intervals.
Some minor pinpoint bleeding is to be expected immediately after a treatment, followed by bright redness which usually subsides within 2-3 days.
